Collection of IP address
IEC collects information about the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of all visitors to our site. An IP address is a number assigned to your computer automatically when you use the Internet. This information is only collected in aggregate for visitors to the public area of our site (in other words, we do not monitor your individual usage of the site) and helps us monitor site traffic patterns in order to improve our service. For IEC clients who have registered to use our "client / staff area", your IP address will be used to monitor your usage of the secure area, to ensure it complies with the terms and conditions of your registration.
Use of Cookies
A cookie is a small data file that websites can write to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file we set contains non-personal identifying information, such as a user ID, to track the pages you've visited or things you've seen and to pre-populate information on forms in and around our websites. We use cookies in some parts of our website to track your traffic patterns. We do this to determine how effective our navigational structure is, how people use our site, and which content is of the highest interest to visitors. We also use cookies to track URLs you may have clicked on to reach our site (through e-mail campaigns) and to recognize you upon your return in order to pre-populate information on our forms. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or cookie files created by other sites, and it will not harm any of the data on your hard drive.
If you prefer not to receive cookies from our website, you can set your browser to alert you about the presence of cookies and refuse them. You can also refuse all cookies from all websites by selecting the disable cookies option in your browser.
Client Database
We hold a database of client details securely at our head office and only information pertinent to validation of accreditation certificates is displayed to browsers using the certificate validation facility (Name, certificate number & Scope of certificate). Use of this lookup facility is logged.
IEC may send out e-bulletins and newsletters by email to our clients. All such newsletters from IEC include the option to unsubscribe. Alternatively, you can change your contact preferences at any time by contacting the IEC office directly on +44 (0)1775 722728
